CCD可以称之为CCD图像传感器。CCD是一种半导体器件，它可以把光学影像转化为数字信号的一种芯片。而CCD视觉，比较通俗地理解为装有CCD芯片的摄像头，这种摄像头应用在工业生产中与设备构成一套具有检测功能的设备被称之为视觉检测设备。
CCD can be called a CCD image sensor. CCD is a semiconductor device, which can transform optical image into a chip of digital signal. CCD vision, which is more commonly understood as a camera equipped with CCD chips, is used in industrial production and equipment to form a set of detection devices known as visual inspection equipment.
CCD视觉检测设备依赖于CCD成像摄像头和视觉检测系统，其中检测系统由于很重要，是整个产品的核心，所以视觉检测系统基于客户对产品的检测要求，跟据客户的要求系统开发工程师再有指对性开发。行业内有通用检测系统，这些系统一般是事先开发好的，可能集成有大部份的检测功能，可以满足要求时直接购买与硬件整合就可以利用。
